Tripura BJP manifesto

Agartala, Feb 08: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released its manifesto for the upcoming Tripura Assembly polls, promising increased autonomy for tribal communities in the state, and greater economic support to farmers.

Unveiling the document at a rally in Agartala, party president JP Nadda said the BJP’s sankalp patra (vision document or manifesto) was a symbol of the party’s commitment to the people of Tripura. “We will take Tripura on the path of DTH – development, transformation, and harmony,” he said.

The manifesto said that a Balika Samridddhi bond of Rs 50,000 will be given to every girl child while the tribal language Kokborok will become subjects in CBSE and ICSE curricula. If re-elected, the party said it would ensure Rs 5 meals for all under its Anukul Chandra scheme.

Major Promises: Tripura Sankalp Patra 2023

  • Balika Somriddhi Scheme – a bond of ₹50,000 to each family from financially weaker sections on the birth of a girl child.
  • Mukhyamantri Konya Atmonirbhor Yojana to provide free scooty to meritorious college-going female students.
  • 2 free LPG cylinders to all the beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana.
  • Distribute land pattas to all eligible landless citizens.
  • Provide affordable housing to all registered beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin and Urban by 2025.
  • Set up Anukulchandra Canteens to provide subsidized cooked food three times a day at  ₹5 per meal.
  • Provide free rice and wheat to all eligible PDS beneficiaries every month and provide edible oil at a subsidized rate, four times a year through the PDS system.
  • Restructure TTAADC to provide it with greater autonomy and additional legislative, executive, administrative, and financial powers, within the framework of the proposed 125th Constitution Amendment Bill.
  • Tripura Janjati Bikash Yojana – annual financial assistance of ₹5,000 to Scheduled Tribe families.
  • Establish the Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Tribal University in Gandacherra to research, promote and preserve tribal culture and studies.
  • Increase the honorarium from ₹2,000 per month to ₹5,000 per month to Pradhan Samajpatis.
  • PM Kisan – Increase the financial assistance from ₹6,000 to ₹8,000 per annum and provide financial assistance of ₹3,000 per year under the Bhumihin Kisan Vikas Yojana to all landless farmers.
  • Matsya Sahayak Yojana – annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 to all fishermen.
  • Provide access to tap water in all households under the Jal Jeevan Mission by 2024.
  • Double the per-family annual cap from ₹5 lakhs to ₹10 lakhs under the Ayushman Bharat.
  • Invest an amount of ₹500 crores to provide collateral-free loans of up to ₹10 lakhs to MSMEs and Entrepreneurs with a 100% credit guarantee cover.
  • Provide smartphones to around 50,000 meritorious college-going students under Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogayog Yojana.
  • Launch the Tripura Road Maintenance and Upgradation Programme with an investment of ₹1,000 crores to upgrade and modernize road infrastructure in the state over the next 5 years.

  • We will invest ₹600 crores in the Tripura Unnata Gram Fund for further developing rural infrastructure.
  • Ensure last-mile delivery of caste certificates by providing caste certificates within 15 days of submission of the application.
  • Launch a Tirtha Yojana for Senior Citizens and subsidize train travel, lodging, and allowance to Ayodhya, Varanasi, Ujjain, etc.
  • Introduce a special package including subsidized train travel, lodging, and allowance to Deoghar in Jharkhand and Gorakhnath in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Establish S.D. Burman Performing Arts Academy to focus on popularising the state’s folk dance, music, and theatre.
  • Expand the tourism economy of Tripura by investing ₹1000 crores and launch the Tripura Tourism Skill Mission to provide skill development training and employment to 1 lakh people.

The elections for the 60 seats are scheduled to be held on February 16. Whereas in Meghalaya and Nagaland, voting will be held on 27 February. Counting votes for all three states will be held simultaneously on March 2.
