Guwahati, Nov 21:Â In a dramatic turn of events, Hekmat Ali, one of the most wanted drug mafias, sustained injuries in a police firing incident in Nagaon on November 20 as he attempted to escape from police custody.
The Assam Police, acting on specific intelligence inputs, conducted a search operation at Hekmat Ali’s residence, leading to the seizure of substantial amounts of brown sugar, a vehicle, and various incriminating items.

Preliminary reports suggest that Ali, a notorious figure in the world of drug trafficking, had managed to elude authorities and conduct illegal activities for an extended period.
Following the police encounter, Hekmat Ali was rushed to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries. The incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to crack down on drug-related criminal activities in the region.
