Kohima, March 02: BJP minister from Nagaland Temjen Imna Along, who is known for his humorous social media posts, and also received Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s praise recently, has won Alongtaki seat. Along, the chief of BJP’s Nagaland unit, defeated JD(U) candidate Lanu Longchar by a margin of over 3,000 votes.

 

The BJP minister has become an internet sensation because of his funny tweets and amazing sense of humour.

Last week, he also earned PM Modi’s praise who said that the BJP truly represents Nagaland and the entire northeast beautifully on the digital platform. Prime Minister Modi said in Dimapur, “the things our state BJP president Temna Imna says resonates across the country. They thoroughly enjoy it.”

Meanwhile, the counting of votes is underway in Nagaland. The ruling NDPP-BJP alliance won 15 seats and is leading in 21 seats in the Nagaland Assembly election. Elections were held for 59 Assembly seats on February 27. The Akuluto seat has been won uncontested by BJP nominee Kazheto Kinimi.
