National Library in Kolkata is all set to welcome PM Modi

Kolkata, Jan 23: PM Narendra Modi will visit the National Library in Kolkata on Saturday to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, which is being celebrated as ‘Parakram Diwas’.

An International Conference “Re-visiting the legacy of Netaji Subhas in the 21st century” and an Artists’ Camp are being organised. PM will interact with the artists and conference participants at the library.

The BJP has covered the road outside the National Library with PM Modi’s posters and BJP flags. Placards reading “Once again Modi Sarkar” has also been put up at the gate of the National Library in Kolkata.

The Prime Minister will preside over the inaugural function at Victoria Memorial in Kolkata before attending a cultural programme called ‘Amra Nuton Jouboneri Doot’, based on the same theme.

The state police force has converted the city into a fortress ahead of the PM’s visit, and as per police sources, around 2,000 police personnel have been deployed across Kolkata to monitor the security machinery closely.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday visit West Bengal to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as part of the ‘Parakram Divas’ celebrations across the country.

Moreover, sand bunkers and quick response teams have also been asked to be present at the venue where PM Modi will be visiting. Additionally, drone cameras will be deployed to monitor the movements in and around the area.

As per the source, Simultaneously, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also expected to take out a procession from Shyambazar five-point crossing to Red Road to celebrate Netaji’s Jayanti. Her rally will commence at 12 noon from Netaji’s statue at the crossing.

The Prime Minister’s personal security team has already arrived in Kolkata to review the preparedness.

PM Modi in Assam on 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

Following his visit to Kolkata, the Prime Minister will head to Sivasagar in Assam to distribute ‘land Patta’ or land allotment certificates to more than one lakh landless indigenous people.

PM Modi on Friday had said that he was committed to doing everything possible to preserve the rights and unique culture of the state.

Tomorrow morning I would be among the people of Assam. At a programme in Sivasagar, 1.06 lakh land pattas/allotment certificates will be distributed. We are committed to doing everything possible to preserve rights & unique culture of the great state of Assam,” the Prime Minister said in a post on social media platform Twitter.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the issuance of land allotment certificates has been a top priority of the central government to instil a sense of security among the indigenous people in the northeastern state.

Assam had 5.75 lakh, landless families, in 2016. The present Government has distributed 2.28 lakhs land pattas/allotment certificates since May 2016. The ceremony on January 23 marks the next step in this process,” the PMO statement said.
