Aizawl, Oct 14: The Election Commission of India has officially initiated the nomination period for the upcoming Mizoram Assembly elections. The gazette notification, which encompasses all 40 Assembly Constituencies in the state, has specified that candidates may file their nominations until October 20, which marks the last day for submissions.
However, the initial day of the nomination period witnessed no candidates submitting their nominations across the entire state.
The gazette notification has also outlined the schedule for further proceedings. The scrutiny of nominations will be conducted on October 21, and candidates will have until October 23 to withdraw their nominations.

Mizoram is gearing up for the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for November 7. Voting will take place from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on that day.
