Aizawl, Nov 01: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said the north-eastern states are an important part of India’s security saying that there are many unsung heroes in the region.
The Union Minister said that Congress dropped a bomb in Mizoram creating problems in the livelihood of the Mizos. He said that Mizoram is a peaceful state during the BJP government and the Central is proud of them as they are the protectors of the nation.
Union Minister said Mizoram has seen many developments in terms of sports and infrastructure, the Central is happy to see the traditions and culture of the Mizos, he added.
Rajnath Singh said the Northeast states were neglected during the Congress government in India but under the BJP government, they have gained an important place in the government. He said that 17 airports have been built in the north-eastern states since BJP came to power and 23 airports will be built in the Northeast soon.

The Defense Minister said that an MoU has been signed with the World Bank for the development of the health sector in Mizoram amounting to 326.7 crore.
The Union Minister said that Mizoram peace is very important to him and he regrets the Manipur conflict. He said that the people have suffered a lot and he hopes that the ethnic conflict will improve. He said that the government will take massive steps to bring peace to the state of Manipur.
The Minister said that the Central Government has allocated a lot of funds for road construction in Mizoram he said that the government has plans to build a railway line in Mizoram connecting to the Myanmar border which will connect Aizawl to Saisihchhuah in the state and connect Palettwa in Myanmar.
Rajnath Singh said that the Durand Cup has been held in two northeastern states since the BJP government. He said that Mizoram would host the Durand Cup if the BJP voted to power.
Rajnath Singh said that MNF has not achieved any major development during its five-year rule. He said that former Speaker Pu Lalrinliana Sailo wanted to bring development and joined the BJP.
