Bhubneshwar, Dec 26: In a shocking incident of a fake gang-rape allegation, a special fast track court after hearing the entire incident directed the police to register a case against a girl who had filed a false gang rape case.

The incident took place in May month of 2020 in Phulbani district fast track court in Odisha. Based on the complaint of the woman a case was registered in Sadar Police station.

However, during the investigation, it was found by the court that the woman had altered her statement not once but a few times, there was a contrast between the statements she had given during the registration of the FIR when she recorded the statement under Section 164 of CrPC.

Furthermore, during the hearing of the case, the girl stated she has not been raped.

Finally, On account of the girl’s fresh statement in the courtroom and scrutinizing the entire case, the judge of the fast track Special Court pronounced all four accused persons innocent and directed police to release them.

The court also ordered the police to register an FIR against the girl for filing a false report and ordered immediately to stop the grant in the form of financial aid meant for a rape victim.

Bijay Pattnaik Prosecutor Advocate informs the media that “Following the incident in May 2020 after recording statement under section 164 CrPc, followed by a medical test of the victim, Phulbani Police had filed a charge sheet against four accused. However, during the hearing, the court realized that the complainant had made false allegations of being a victim of gang rape. The court has ordered to register a case against the girl under section 193 of IPC.”

However, the complainant’s lawyer Bijay Mohanty said, “The girl had not written the complaint herself, and she only signed it. Her statement before the magistrate was forced by the police. But, she couldn’t even remember her earlier statement. Considering such confusing statements of the girl, the court announced the accused persons clear and released them.”
