New Delhi, March 14: A comprehensive report on the concept of ‘One Nation One Election (ONOE)’ was presented to President Droupadi Murmu by a panel led by former President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday.

This high-level committee recommended the development of a legally viable mechanism by the central government to reinstate the practice of simultaneous elections across the nation.

The report, spanning 18,626 pages, is the culmination of thorough consultations with various stakeholders, and experts, and extensive research conducted over 191 days. Established on September 2, 2023, the panel meticulously examined the intricacies and implications of implementing ONOE.

Following its completion, the report was formally submitted to President Murmu after the panel’s meeting at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi earlier today.
