Jorhat, March 09: Prime Minister Modi is set to dedicate two significant railway projects from Jorhat in Assam, aimed at enhancing connectivity and easing congestion in the region.

The projects include the doubling of the Dhupdhara Chhyagaon section (34.17 km) and the New Bongaigaon Sorbhog section (36.42 km), with costs amounting to Rs 807 crores and Rs 521 crores, respectively.

These initiatives are expected to facilitate smoother train services and alleviate congestion along both sections.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate multiple developmental projects in the rail and road sectors, collectively valued at over Rs 4500 crores, in Siliguri on March 9th.

These projects encompass various electrification efforts along rail lines, including the doubling of the railway line in the Manigram – Nimtita section and the implementation of automatic block signalling in Ambari Falakata – Aluabari.

Moreover, a new passenger train service between Siliguri and Radhikapur will be introduced.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two National Highway projects worth Rs 3,100 crores in West Bengal, designed to alleviate traffic congestion and foster industrial and economic development in the state.
