Guwahati, May 07: In an unfortunate turn of events, a polling agent at the Mohanpur Nayapara Primary School No 171 polling booth in Jogighopa, Bongaigaon, Assam, collapsed while on duty on May 7.
The sudden incident resulted in a temporary halt in polling at the center, lasting for about 30 minutes. The unconscious polling agent was swiftly transported to the Bongaigaon Civil Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Meanwhile, Assam witnessed a 27.34 percent voter turnout in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections across four constituencies by 11:30 am.
Kokrajhar recorded the highest polling percentage at 28.28 percent, followed closely by Dhubri at 27.77 percent.
Barpeta secured the third position with 27.19 percent, while Guwahati reported a voter participation rate of 26.25 percent.
