Imphal, June 29: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has embarked on a two-day visit to the violence-stricken state of Manipur, landing in Imphal on June 29. His primary objective is to travel to Churachandpur and meet with representatives of civil society organizations and victims of the recent outbreak of violence, according to sources.

Armed miscreants, carrying sophisticated weapons, attacked the villages of Tangnaum and L Munlai on Thursday morning. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties at the time of filing this report.
