Simultaneously, the week-long Vedic rituals leading up to the pran-pratishtha (consecration ceremony) of Lord Ram Lalla in the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple entered its fourth day. The day’s proceedings involved the lighting of the holy fire at 9 am, followed by the establishment of ‘Navagraha’ and a ‘Havan.’

The 51-inch idol of Lord Ram, meticulously crafted by renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, was positioned inside the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday after 12:30 pm.

Subsequent rituals, including ‘Jaladhivas’ for cleansing the idol with water, ‘Ganesh Pujan,’ and ‘Varun Pujan,’ were performed.

Veiled during the ceremonies, the idol depicts Lord Ram as a five-year-old child standing on a lotus, crafted from the same stone.

Ayodhya is abuzz with preparations for the monumental pran-prathistha ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla scheduled for January 22 in the newly constructed Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

The week-long rituals, initiated on Tuesday, will culminate in the pran-prathistha ceremony on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the ceremonial installation of Ram Lalla. The temple doors will open for public ‘darshan’ starting January 23.

In light of the consecration ceremony, the Central Government declared that all central government offices will observe a half-day closure on January 22.
