Imphal, Aug 16: In a concerted effort to maintain peace and security in Manipur, security forces have recently made significant strides in recovering arms and ammunition from vulnerable areas. The ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of citizens and curb potential unrest have resulted in the discovery of arms and ammunition in the Bishnupur and Kangpokpi districts. In the last 24 hours, 11 arms and 78 ammunition were recovered in search operations conducted by the security forces.

The Manipur police took to their official social media handle on August 15 to announce the successful outcome of the search operations. These operations, meticulously carried out in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Bishnupur and Kangpokpi districts yielded fruitful results. The recovery of arms and ammunition underscores the commitment of the security forces to neutralize potential threats and maintain a peaceful environment.

Simultaneously, a total of 124 Nakas/Checkpoints have been established in various districts of Manipur, spanning both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints play a crucial role in monitoring movement and ensuring security. In their efforts to maintain law and order, the police have detained 1289 individuals across different districts of the state in connection with various violations.
