Mumbai, Jan 20: Reliance Industries, led by industrialist Mukesh Ambani, has declared a nationwide holiday on January 22 to commemorate the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

This decision allows employees of Reliance Industries to actively participate in the historic event, known as the Ram Lalla ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony.

The move follows the central government’s announcement of a half-day holiday for all its offices, institutions, and industrial establishments on the same date.

A Finance Ministry order dated January 18 mandates the closure of all public sector banks (PSBs), insurance companies, financial institutions, and regional rural banks (RRBs) across the country for half a day on January 22 to observe the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

The Maharashtra government has also declared January 22 as a public holiday. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed the closure of money markets on this date, with no transactions and settlements in government securities, foreign exchange, money markets, and rupee interest rate derivatives.
