New Delhi, Feb 18: Renowned Jain muni Acharya Vidhyasagar Maharaj passed away early Sunday morning at Chandragiri Teerth in Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on the demise of Acharya Shri 108 Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj.

In his tribute, Prime Minister Modi highlighted Acharya Vidhyasagar Maharaj’s significant contributions to society, including his efforts towards spiritual enlightenment, poverty alleviation, healthcare, and education. He noted that the Jain muni would be remembered for generations to come for his invaluable work.

Last year, Prime Minister Modi visited Dongargarh, a revered pilgrimage site in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district, where he had the privilege of meeting Acharya Vidhyasagar Maharaj.

During his visit, Modi also offered prayers at the Maa Bamleshwari Temple situated at the foothills of Dongargarh.

Reflecting on his interaction with Acharya Vidhyasagar Maharaj, Prime Minister Modi shared images from their meeting, recalling the honor of receiving the muni’s blessings over the years.

He particularly reminisced about his visit to the Chandragiri Jain Mandir in Dongargarh, where he spent time with the revered Jain spiritual leader.
