Ayodhya, Jan 02: Renowned sculptor Yogiraj Arun, hailing from Karnataka, has been bestowed with the honor of creating the sacred idol of ‘Ram Lalla’ for installation in the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The highly anticipated consecration ceremony is scheduled for January 22, 2024, marking a historic moment in India’s cultural and religious landscape.

Arun Yogiraj, known for his masterful creations such as the sculptures of Adi Shankaracharya at Kedarnath and Subhash Chandra Bose near India Gate in Delhi, was chosen among three sculptors for the prestigious task.

His meticulous work on the divine representation of Lord Rama as a child began six to seven months before the selection, aiming to capture both the innocence of a child and the divinity of a divine incarnation.

The idol’s unveiling is a matter of great anticipation, with a deliberate decision to withhold images or videos until January 17, preserving the sanctity and surprise of the first glimpse.

The construction of the Ram Temple, overseen by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, is a monumental endeavour with an estimated cost of â‚ą1,800 crores.

As the nation eagerly awaits the historic consecration ceremony, the sense of pride in Karnataka and the joy in Yogiraj’s family are palpable. Yogiraj’s mother, Saraswathi, expresses her profound happiness and anticipation for the day when her son’s work will be honored in such a revered context.

This momentous event not only celebrates the artistic achievement of Arun Yogiraj but also symbolizes the profound spiritual connection that the people of India share with their cultural heritage, embodied by the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
