Hyderabad, Dec 07: Anumula Revanth Reddy, a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress, is poised to ascend to the position of Chief Minister of Telangana, marking a pivotal moment in his political trajectory. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad at precisely 1:04 PM, symbolizing a significant shift in the political landscape of the state.

The decision to appoint Revanth Reddy as the Chief Minister follows a period of intense speculation and internal discussions within the Congress party. His selection by the party high command, prevailing over other senior contenders, signals a new era for the Congress in Telangana.

The swearing-in ceremony is anticipated to draw a distinguished audience, including former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with approximately one lakh invited attendees.

Revanth Reddy’s leadership played a pivotal role in the Congress party’s historic victory in the state assembly elections. The campaign, centered around the promise of “six guarantees,” resonated with the electorate.

As he assumes the role of Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy faces the formidable challenge of translating these assurances into tangible actions. The commitments include initiatives such as free travel for women on state buses and substantial financial schemes for farmers and farm workers.

The political journey of Revanth Reddy has been characterized by his initial involvement with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and his subsequent election as an independent Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) in 2007.

Transitioning to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), he secured victory in the assembly elections from the Kodangal seat in 2014. In a strategic move, he joined the Congress party in 2017 and assumed the role of president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee in June 2021.

The oath-taking ceremony goes beyond a mere formality; it serves as a testament to Revanth Reddy’s resilience and the trust vested in him by the people of Telangana and the Congress party. As he takes on the responsibility of leading the state, the focus is on how he will navigate the challenges ahead and guide Telangana towards a prosperous and transformative future.
