Guwahati, Feb 28: Tragedy struck Baihata Chariali, Kamrup, Assam, as a section of an under-construction flyover collapsed, claiming the life of one individual. The incident occurred on the Baihata bypass of National Highway 27, sending shockwaves through the local community.

The collapse was attributed to an overloaded beam atop the flyover, reportedly supported by inadequate wooden structures.

The victim, a resident of Khandikar in Rangia, met his untimely demise at Theta, where the catastrophic failure occurred.

Following the tragic event, public outrage surged, prompting protests and the road’s closure from Tezpur to Guwahati via Nalbari Mangad.
