Gangtok, Feb 28: The semi-final matches of the Khelo India University Ashtalakshmi Games 2023 were held today at the Indoor Hall of Paljor Stadium in Sikkim.
The event witnessed the presence of Tenzing Lamtha, Advisor of the Information and Technology Department and founder of the Himalayan Sporting Club, alongside esteemed guests.
A total of 26 bouts were contested across various weight categories during the semi-finals.
The victors from these intense matches will advance to the final round scheduled for February 28-29, 2024.

Among the finalists are Harwinder Singh, Krishan Thakran, Avinsah Chandel, Ashish, Vikash, Sevan, Gurpreet Singh, Ashish Kumar, Harsh, Karan, Pankaj, Deepak, Aman Rathor, Pandey Aniket J, Parveen, Hitesh Kumar, Himanshu, Ish Pannu, Dhruv Singh, Anit, Yuvraj, Nitish, Jagvinder, Sahil, Ansul, and Sawan Gill.
The event also witnessed the attendance of notable figures like Bhaichung Yonzon, Vice President of the Sikkim Sports Climbing Association, Suren Gurung, General Secretary of the Sikkim Sports Climbing Association, Pravin Khaling, Publicity Secretary of the Sikkim Sports Climbing Association, officials from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of the Government of Sikkim, representatives from the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), and various other dignitaries and officials.
