Imphal, May 08: In a significant operation targeting the banned National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM), security forces apprehended an active cadre, Heisnam James Singh alias Kumar, in Imphal on May 7.
The arrest of Singh, aged 33, occurred near the RIMS Gate on the Lamphel RIMS Road, marking a crucial breakthrough in efforts to dismantle the NRFM’s extortion network operating in Imphal.
Singh’s capture came as a result of intensified efforts by security personnel to crack down on the outfit’s extortion activities in the area. Upon his arrest, authorities seized a two-wheeler and a mobile phone from his possession.
