Imphal, June 18: Security forces successfully apprehended three individuals affiliated with valley-based insurgent groups near Shantong, close to Lamlong village in Tengnoupal District of Manipur on June 14.

The arrested suspects are identified as Thiyam Lukhoi Luwang (21 years) from the KYKL Group, Keisham Premchand Singh (24 years) from the KYKL Group, and Inaobi Khundrakpam (20 years) from the KCP Noyon Group.

Officials from Assam and Manipur Police conducted a joint night meeting at Jiribam along the Assam-Manipur border to discuss the prevailing situation in the region.

Security measures, including intensified patrolling and area domination, have been implemented along the entire riverine stretch of the Barak and Jiri rivers.

Search operations and area domination activities were carried out by security forces in the vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.

Strict security protocols have been put in place to ensure the movement of vehicles carrying essential items along NH-37 and NH-2.

Enhanced security measures are also in effect at all vulnerable locations, with security convoys deployed in sensitive stretches to facilitate free and safe vehicle movement.
