Mumbai, March 27: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut unveiled a roster of 17 candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with Anil Desai securing a crucial Mumbai seat in the fray.

Among the announced candidates, 11 were previously disclosed by party chief Uddhav Thackeray during his recent visits to respective Lok Sabha constituencies.

The party reaffirmed the candidacy of all five incumbent MPs, including Arvind Sawant for Mumbai South, Sanjay Patil for Mumbai North East, and Amol Kirtikar for Mumbai North West.

Rajan Vichare will vie for Thane, while Vinayak Raut secured a ticket for Ratnagiri Sindhudurg. Additionally, Sanjay Jadhav (Parbhani) and Omraje Nimbalkar (Osmanabad) have been renominated.

Shiv Sena also extended its reach to Aurangabad, nominating former MP Chandrakant Khaire for the seat.

In a surprising move, wrestler Chandrahar Patil has been selected as the candidate for Sangli, a constituency that the Congress, a coalition partner in the Maha Vikas Aghadi, had been advocating for.
