Assam, Dec 18: A student of the Kopili Girl’s Hostel committed suicide on Friday, causing a sensation on the Tezpur University campus.
While speaking to this correspondent, Biren Das, the Registrar of the Tezpur University, said that the girl studied Chemical Science at the University and was from Dibrugarh.
After they received the information from their end, a magistrate from the district administration and an outpost from Barghat Police rushed to the hostel and found the body hanging. This body has been taken for autopsy to Kanaklata Civil Hospital, said the registrar.
According to Biren Das, the family of the deceased has been notified. In addition, he explained that the purpose of the incident has yet to be determined.
