Itanagar, Dec 16: Arunachal Justice Forum filed a plea in the Supreme Court by seeking a probe against Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his government has been disposed of by the apex court.

The Arunachal Justice Forum had filed a petition before the Court seeking investigation against the Arunachal Pradesh government and Chief Minister Pema Khandu for their involvement in alleged misused funds granted to various departments, but the apex court disposed of the application.

The order passed by the Supreme Court stated that “Having heard learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, learned senior counsel appearing for the state of Arunachal Pradesh and carefully perusing the material available on record, we find that the main relief and the interim relief prayed for are one and the same and as such, there is no need to pass any interim order in the said application at this stage. In view of the above, the said application stands disposed of.”

Earlier, the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) had made wild allegations against Arunachal CM Pema Khandu that the Chief Minister and his relatives indulged in a multi-crore rupees scam. It also mentioned that the CM had misused funds allocated to various departments.

The association also alleged that the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is involved in the scams under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), panchayat and hydropower schemes, etc.

Advocate Anil Shrivastava said that the entire allegation is totally baseless.

“The allegations which were made against the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu are completely baseless and it has no merit,” Shrivastava said.
