Nagaland travel

Kohima, May 17: Nagaland, a state known for its natural beauty and cultural richness, is gaining attention in the travel community. Thanks to the efforts of Temjen Imna Along, Nagaland’s Minister of Higher Education and Tourism, more people are discovering the hidden gems of the region.

Along, an avid promoter of Nagaland’s tourism, recently shared a captivating video showcasing the picturesque village of Zapami, located just 53 km from Nagaland’s capital, Kohima. The video provides a glimpse into the village’s breathtaking landscape, vibrant culture, and intriguing history, leaving viewers inspired and eager to visit.

Originally shared by The Broke Traveler on YouTube, the video quickly gained traction online. It was even featured on Nagaland Tourism’s official Twitter page, further amplifying its reach. Minister Along shared the clip on his own social media platforms, adding a personal message that expressed his awe of the region’s rich history and culture.

The video highlights the remarkable efforts of the locals in Zapami to preserve their cultural heritage. This is not the first time Minister Along has showcased the wonders of Nagaland. He previously shared a captivating glimpse of Longwa village, located in the Mon district. Longwa village is unique because the international border between India and Myanmar runs right through the house of the village chief, Angh.

In a lighthearted caption accompanying the video, Minister Along humorously noted that the village chief only needs to go to his bedroom to cross the border. Angh’s bedroom falls within Indian territory, while the rest of his house is situated in Myanmar. This fascinating arrangement allows him to sleep in India and dine in Myanmar without ever leaving his home.

By utilizing social media to promote these lesser-known destinations and intriguing facts about Nagaland, Minister Along is playing a vital role in boosting tourism in the region. Increased tourist footfall has the potential to significantly contribute to Nagaland’s economy, paving the way for rapid development and progress within the state.

As more travelers are exposed to the captivating beauty and cultural heritage of Nagaland, the region has the opportunity to emerge as a must-visit destination. The efforts of passionate individuals like Minister Along, coupled with the natural allure of places like Zapami village, are turning the spotlight on Nagaland and enticing travelers to pack their bags and embark on a journey to explore this enchanting part of India.
