Agartala, April 29: Tripura BJP MLA, Jadab Lal Nath, representing Bagbasa assembly constituency in North Tripura district, received a show cause notice from the Assistant Returning Officer of North Tripura for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the Second Phase of elections on April 26.

The notice stemmed from an incident where Nath purportedly entered a polling station and behaved inappropriately with Booth Level Workers overseeing the voter’s desk.

The incident occurred in polling booth number 22 of Bagbasa, falling under the East Tripura Parliamentary seat, where Kriti Devi Singh, contesting on a BJP ticket, is a candidate.

Additionally, a complaint has been filed against BJP leader Kajal Das for reportedly assaulting a polling officer during the election day.

The complaint, lodged by the Assistant Returning Officer of North Tripura district, details how Das and his associates allegedly assaulted the presiding officer of booth number 22, who was attempting to manage an unruly crowd at the polling station.
