Agartala, March 19: Approximately 70 companies of central forces have been deployed in Tripura to oversee the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and bypoll in the state.

The Election Commission’s decision to intensify security preparations underscores the importance of ensuring a smooth electoral process and maintaining law and order during the polls.
The deployment of central forces, with each company consisting of around 100 personnel, aims to address various election-related tasks, including patrolling, area dominance, and conducting flag marches to instil confidence among voters.
A senior police officer emphasized the strategic distribution of these forces, with approximately 14 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Border Security Force (BSF) stationed in Tripura West.
