Agartala, Aug 12: Tripura State Jamiat-Ulama-i-Hind has strongly condemned the reported attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh and called for their protection.
In a statement, Mufti Tayebur Rahman, President of the Tripura State Jamiat-Ulama-i-Hind, expressed concerns over incidents occurring after Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s departure on August 5, 2024.
He reported allegations of violent attacks on police, journalists, and looting and arson targeting Hindu minorities, including assaults on temples.
Despite efforts by the Muslim majority, including madrassa students, to protect minority homes and religious sites, there are ongoing reports of targeted violence.

Rahman emphasized that such acts must be condemned and urged for the security of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
He also appealed to all communities, including Muslims in Bangladesh, to uphold the safety and rights of minorities.
Rahman called for the interim government of Bangladesh to ensure minority rights, conduct thorough investigations into persecution, and maintain peace and order.
