1. Kuresh Behera and Sonu Bisoi, both 22, from Chandapur and Kanishi in Berhampur, Odisha, started a pilgrimage to Ayodhya on foot.
2. Expressing devotion to Lord Ram and the newly constructed Ram temple, they began their spiritual journey after offering prayers in Kanishi.
3. The duo plans to walk 30-35 km daily and expects to reach Ayodhya in the next 40 days, although they may miss the temple’s inaugural function.


Bhubaneswar, Jan 01: Two young men from Odisha have embarked on a pilgrimage to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on foot, expressing their devotion to Lord Ram and the newly constructed Ram temple.

Kuresh Behera and Sonu Bisoi, both 22 years old and residents of Chandapur and Kanishi in Berhampur, began their spiritual journey after offering prayers at the Ram temple in Kanishi. Although they might miss the scheduled inauguration of the temple on January 22, the duo is committed to covering the over 1,400-km distance in approximately 40 days.

Carrying bags and flags, the friends set out for Ayodhya, accompanied by locals chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ Behera and Bisoi expressed gratitude for the heartening moments of solidarity, with people along their route offering greetings and blessings.

The youths aim to walk 30-35 km daily to reach Ayodhya within the planned timeframe. While they may miss the temple’s inaugural function, their primary goal is to witness and offer prayers to Lord Ram in Ayodhya.

Working in private companies, Behera and Bisoi plan to stay overnight at roadside temples during their journey. They also intend to raise awareness among people about the spiritual path and the significance of devotion.
