Guwahati, Dec 20: In Lower Assam’s Dhubri district, unidentified miscreants set a seized vehicle and set it ablaze during the early hours of Sunday.

In the early hours of December 17, police chased and intercepted a vehicle laden with two cattle as it attempted to cross the Indo-Bangla border.

Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle could not save his car, even though he somehow managed to escape the spot.

Therefore, the abandoned vehicle was seized by the police and kept at a police patrol station on the campus of Soulmari.

However, at some point in the early hours of Sunday, some miscreants rode up on a bike, shouted slogans, set fire to the vehicle, and took advantage of the darkness to escape.

Abhijit Gaurav, the superintendent of police in Dhubri, has confirmed the police incident and said the miscreants were not identified.

Nonetheless, police are conducting an investigation to find the criminals involved in this case and will take legal action if necessary, said Abhijit Gaurav.
