Agartala, Jan 19: Soon after the Election Commission of India declared the poll in Tripura, Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma allege that his regional party worker Pranajit Namasudhra was seriously wounded by members from the ruling party in Surma constituency.

He also appeals for peace and requested his party members not to react.

While sharing the news on Twitter, Tipra Motha supremo wrote, “Getting reports of a Tipra Motha worker Pranajit Namasudhra being seriously wounded (allegedly)by members from the ruling party in Surma constituency! I appeal for peace and calm and for our members not to react. I am personally enquiring on the matter. Please don’t react or do anything. I am personally verifying what has happened! The last thing we need is violence in the build-up to the election.”

Earlier, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma said his regional party will field candidates in 40-45 seats in the Tripura Assembly election. Election to the 60-member Tripura Assembly this year in Feburary.

Debbarma said his party will give tickets to non-Tiprasa (non-tribal) people also.

The Tripura Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance or Tipra Motha, a regional political party led by royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, seeks a ‘greater Tipraland’, a separate state for the indigenous people of Tripura.

Tipra Motha won the elections to Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in 2021 and has a strong presence in the 20 tribal seats in the state.
