Mamata spain

Madrid, Sept 14: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during her trip to Spain, left an indelible mark with a heartwarming gesture. As she strolled through the vibrant streets of the Spanish capital, her encounter with a roadside artist added a touch of melody to her European sojourn.

This overseas venture holds immense significance as Mamata Banerjee embarks on a 12-day tour to Dubai and Spain, from Tuesday until September 23. The aim of her trip is to attract foreign investment to her state. Her diplomatic mission encompasses strategic visits to Dubai, Madrid, and Barcelona, where a series of pivotal business meetings are on the agenda.

Banerjee’s international expedition comes ahead of the highly anticipated 7th Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), scheduled for November 21-22 in Kolkata. This summit serves as a critical platform for fostering economic partnerships and drawing investment into the state. Her visits to Dubai and Spain lay the groundwork for strengthening West Bengal’s global ties and business prospects.

Amidst her bustling schedule of business engagements, Mamata Banerjee’s impromptu stop in Madrid bore testament to her vibrant spirit and cultural appreciation. The heartwarming incident unfolded as she paused by a roadside artist and engaged in a delightful musical moment.

With a touch of spontaneity, Mamata Banerjee joined the artist in playing the iconic tune “Hum Honge Kamiyab” on his accordion. This heartening display of cultural exchange underscored the universal language of music, transcending borders and language barriers.

Spain’s presence as the theme country of the 46th Kolkata International Book Fair (KIBF) earlier this year laid the foundation for a cultural bridge between the two nations. The remarkable success of the KIBF provided a platform for literary and cultural exchange, fostering deeper connections between India and Spain.

Spain has extended a warm invitation to the organizers of the KIBF to participate in the Liber Book Fair, scheduled for 2025 in Madrid. This invitation not only highlights the cultural bonds between the two nations but also paves the way for continued collaboration in the realm of literature and the arts.
