Exit Poll Results 2023: Exit Poll Numbers for Madhya Pradesh Elections 2023

In Madhya Pradesh, the largest state to go to the polls, a majority of exit polls predicted an intense battle between the ruling BJP and the Congress — two gave the edge to the Congress, one to the BJP and two forecast a dead heat. But two other prominent surveys — IndiaToday-AxisMyIndia and Today’s Chanakya-News 24 were the outliers, predicting a sweep for the BJP and a decimation for the Congress.

The BJP has ruled the state for 18 of the last 20 years, and the party fielded a bevvy of senior ministers and parliamentarians, in addition to talking about its welfare outreach and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s image. The Congress had focussed on anti-incumbency and corruption allegations against Chouhan.

In Rajasthan, the electoral battle appears to be much tighter. The exit poll indicates a cliffhanger between Congress and the BJP.

Despite facing anti-incumbency, senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has emerged as the most preferred Chief Ministerial candidate with 32% of the vote. The voter turnout for the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections was reported at 75.45%, with voting conducted for 199 out of 200 seats on November 25.

The final results for these state elections are scheduled to be announced on December 3, which will confirm whether the exit polls accurately predicted the electoral outcomes in Rajasthan.

Exit Poll Results 2023: Exit Poll Numbers for Telangana Elections 2023

In Telangana, the only southern state to go to the polls in this round, every exit poll predicted that the Congress — which created the province while it was in power at the Centre in 2014 — was set to displace the BRS that has ruled the state since its inception.

In Chhattisgarh, where the Congress trounced the BJP in a landslide in 2018, the contest was seen as more evenly poised. Exit polls 2023 predicted a furious fight between the two national parties with the Congress inching ahead. Some polls of poll forecast that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was comfortably set for a second straight term. In the tribal-dominated state, the Congress had campaigned on its paddy procurement scheme and other welfare programmes, with the BJP attacking Baghel over corruption allegations.

Exit Poll Results 2023: Exit Poll Numbers for Mizoram Elections 2023 –

The election outcome reflects a substantial anti-incumbency sentiment against CM Zoramthanga’s MNF government. Despite Zoramthanga attempting to regain popularity by highlighting the Mizo identity during the recent Myanmar influx and conflicts between Meiteis and Kukis in neighboring Manipur, it failed to sway voters.

Following the retirement of octogenarian former CM Lalthanhawla, the Congress appears to be adrift. Lalduhoma, the ZPM head, who won the 1984 Lok Sabha polls on a Congress ticket under Indira Gandhi’s encouragement, has been in active politics for an extended period. However, success has eluded him until now. In 2018, ZPM secured eight seats. The anticipation of ZPM’s overwhelming victory signifies a call for change.

Exit Poll

An assembly election exit poll is a survey conducted by agencies to predict the likely outcome of an election. Voters are asked about their choice immediately after exiting the polling station, providing crucial insights into the public’s preferences. This method aims to offer indications of the assembly outcomes, serving as a significant indicator of the national mood leading up to the general assembly elections in 2024.

While exit polls can be insightful, their accuracy has been questioned in the past due to instances of discrepancies. People may not always accurately disclose the candidate they voted for, leading to potential inaccuracies in the predictions. Despite this, exit polls remain a widely followed practice to gauge public sentiment and provide an early indication of the possible election results.

As the nation eagerly awaits the official declaration of results, the exit polls serve as a preliminary glimpse into the potential political landscape in these states. The outcomes will not only influence regional dynamics but also contribute to shaping the broader political narrative as India moves towards the next general assembly elections.
