New Delhi, Oct 28: Sixteen-year-old tennis sensation Snigdha Patibandla, hailing from Assam, recently emerged victorious in the Singles category of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) Girls Championship Series 7, held at the Baidyanath Prasad Tennis Academy in Delhi.

Snigdha’s remarkable journey to the championship included an impressive victory over the top-seeded Prisha Prasad, with a final score of 6-4/6-0. In the semifinals, she clinched another win against the third-seeded Ridhima Mishra, securing a score of 6-3/6-2. Finally, in the championship match, Snigdha triumphed over the second-seeded Navy Dabas with a convincing scoreline of 6-2/6-2.

Born in Dibrugarh and educated at Don Bosco Guwahati, Snigdha is the daughter of Dr. P. Ashok Babu, who has served in various administrative roles, including ADC in Dibrugarh and DC in Dhemaji and Nagaon. He is currently posted as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

Snigdha’s coaches, Hemant Kumar and Mahima Choudhary, are highly optimistic about her potential, predicting that she will continue to make significant strides in the world of tennis. With her recent victory and dedication to the sport, Snigdha is undoubtedly a rising star to watch out for in the coming days.
