Kolkata, July 21: An alarming incident took place in the heart of Kolkata when an armed youth attempted to storm into the residence of West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee. The alertness and quick response of the Kolkata Police averted a potentially dangerous situation as they intercepted the individual before he could enter the lane leading to the CM’s residence.
Kolkata Police Commissioner, Vineet Goyal, provided crucial details about the encounter, stating, “Police intercepted one person identified as Sheikh Noor Alam near the CM’s residence while he was attempting to enter the lane. Upon searching him, we found one firearm, one knife, and contraband substances, along with several ID cards from different agencies. He was traveling in a car with a police sticker on it. The police, along with the Special Task Force (STF) and the State Intelligence Bureau (SB), are currently examining and questioning him.”
