New Delhi, March 24: Arvind Kejriwal, recently arrested in the Delhi liquor policy case, has reportedly issued his inaugural directive to the government while detained in Enforcement Directorate custody, according to AAP sources.
The order, of the Water Ministry, was transmitted via note, party sources confirmed.
Delhi Minister Atishi held a press briefing at 10 am today, divulging details about Kejriwal’s directive.
“From his custody, Arvind Kejriwal has voiced concerns regarding water and sewerage issues in certain city areas. He has instructed the deployment of adequate water tankers to areas facing scarcity,” Atishi read from the directive.
“Even amidst such circumstances, his focus remains on the welfare of Delhi’s residents and their issues. Kejriwal’s arrest will not impede Delhi’s progress,” she emphasized.
Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi’s Chief Minister, was arrested by the ED on March 21 under anti-money laundering laws following raids at his official residence in Civil Lines, New Delhi.

He was remanded to ED custody until March 28 for comprehensive interrogation concerning his alleged involvement in the liquor scam.
Despite his detention, Kejriwal has not tendered his resignation as Chief Minister. AAP leaders have affirmed his continuation in office, stating he will “govern from jail if necessary.”
“We’ve asserted previously that if required, Kejriwal will govern from jail. He can execute his duties as Chief Minister, as no regulation bars him. Since he’s not convicted, he retains his position,” Atishi reiterated.
