Guwahati, Sep 21: In a major initiative to improve the nutritional status of schoolchildren, the Assam government has launched an upgraded midday meal menu as part of the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM POSHAN) scheme.

This program aims to provide students with a balanced and nutritious diet that supports their physical and cognitive development.

The Executive Director of Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA) has directed District Mission Coordinators and Assistant District Nodal Officers of PM POSHAN to implement the revised meal plan immediately.

The new menu features 12 carefully designed recipes that ensure a variety of healthy meals throughout the week.

Focusing on the significance of proper nutrition, the updated plan guarantees that students receive adequate carbohydrates, proteins, and essential vitamins.
