Imphal, March 02: In a recent operation launched on March 1st, Assam Rifles successfully recovered a cache of arms, ammunition, and war-like stores near Elora Hotel in Moreh, Manipur.
The operation, conducted based on specific intelligence inputs, resulted in the retrieval of significant items including a point 38 pistol, 10 country-made IEDs, three grenades, and various other ammunition types.
All confiscated materials have been transferred to local law enforcement for further investigation.

Before this, Manipur Police apprehended three individuals associated with the banned KCP (N) group in Imphal West district.
Alongside the arrests, authorities seized five mobile handsets and Rs 4 lakh in cash.
The recovered arms and ammunition are suspected to have been stolen from security forces previously.
The incident underscores the ongoing challenges of violence in Manipur, particularly since ethnic tensions erupted in May of the previous year. With a total of 219 casualties reported since then, the region continues to grapple with sporadic outbreaks of conflict.
