Nitin Gadkari

1. Gadkari initiates legal action against Congress leaders Kharge and Ramesh for sharing a clipped interview excerpt.
2. Accusations include distorting context to create confusion and tarnish reputation.
3. Alleged intention to sow discord within the BJP party ranks.

New Delhi, March, 02: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has taken legal action against Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh for sharing a 19-second excerpt from an interview he gave to Lallantop.

The Congress leaders are accused of distorting the context and meaning of Gadkari’s interview to sow confusion, create sensation, and tarnish the reputation of the BJP leader, as well as to sow discord within the party.

The notice served to the Congress leaders alleges that Gadkari’s interview was “twisted, distorted, and presented” on their microblogging site without its contextual meaning.

In the shared video snippet, Gadkari can be heard discussing the challenges faced by villages, farmers, and laborers, highlighting issues such as poor infrastructure, lack of water, inadequate healthcare, and education facilities.

However, the video shared by Congress omitted parts where Gadkari addressed rural-urban migration and the efforts made by the NDA government to improve farmers’ lives.

According to Gadkari’s legal notice, the Congress leaders deliberately posted the video with Hindi captions, concealing the true meaning of the interaction to defame him.

They have been asked to remove the social media post and issue a written apology to Gadkari within three days. Failure to comply with these demands may result in civil and criminal proceedings against them.

The incident underscores the growing trend of political parties using selective editing and misinformation to further their agendas and discredit opponents.

It also highlights the importance of responsible communication and adherence to ethical standards, especially in the age of social media where information spreads rapidly and can have far-reaching consequences.
