Guwahati, Nov 9: In a horrific incident from Assam, a 23-year-old youth was allegedly killed by his father for asking for money for Diwali celebrations.
According to the reports, the youth identified as Kakumoni Bora was allegedly killed by his father in Meleng village near Teok in Jorhat district of Assam following an altercation for asking Rs 10,000 for Diwali celebrations on October 31 night.
Jorhat district police said that the accused person identified as Phanidhar Bora admitted to his crime.
A top official of Jorhat district police said that, following the incident, the youth’s body was kept hidden inside a toilet and the parents had filed a missing complaint.
“We have recovered the body from an abandoned toilet and arrested Kakumoni Bora’s father and stepmother,” the police officer said.
On the other hand, police on Tuesday presented the arrested persons to the District court.
