Ayodhya, Dec 30: The upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, is eagerly awaited as a momentous occasion symbolizing joy, harmony, and progress for India.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has termed it a “great moment of joy for everybody” and urged people nationwide to celebrate by visiting local temples and lighting diyas at their homes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and various seers have been invited to partake in this historic event.

In response to the opposition declining invitations for the consecration ceremony, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that the magnificence of the temple would not diminish, emphasizing that whether the opposition attends or not, the excitement among the people will remain.

He remarked that the event was not a political one but an opportunity to seek blessings from Ram Lalla.

Amid political controversies and opposition dissent, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that those refusing to attend the inauguration never desired the temple’s construction, suggesting that their absence would not diminish its grandeur.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated a campaign to encourage participation in the celebrations, aiming to involve ten crore families in Diya Lightning programs.

The consecration ceremony itself spans seven days, commencing on January 16, featuring rituals such as atonement ceremonies, Saryu River baths, Vishnu worship, and offerings to cows.

The idol of Ram Lalla will be bathed in 125 urns and finally laid to rest on January 21, with consecration during an auspicious astrological period the following day.

Attendees of the ceremony will receive special gifts, including sacred prasad and copies of the ‘Ayodhya Darshan’ book, detailing the city’s history and significance.

The consecration of the Ram Mandir promises to be a grand celebration, reflecting the deep devotion and cultural heritage of millions of Hindus.

The event’s spiritual and cultural significance transcends political considerations, offering a unifying moment for people across the nation and beyond, regardless of the attendance or absence of opposition figures.
