Kolkata, May 22: In a tragic turn of events, the body of Bangladeshi Member of Parliament Anwarul Azim, who had been reported missing for the past eight days in Kolkata, was discovered under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday.

Bangladeshi police are prepared to provide legal assistance, urging for the creation of a beautiful Bangladesh free from violence and discrimination.

When asked about the whereabouts of Anwarul Azim, the Member of Parliament for the Jhenaidah-4 constituency, it was revealed that Kolkata Police and Indian authorities were collaborating on the investigation.

Official confirmation regarding the identity of the body is pending. Both Indian and Bangladeshi police are in constant communication.

Speculations arose regarding Azim’s demise, though no official confirmation has been made by Indian authorities as of yet, according to local newspapers.

Anwarul Azim arrived in West Bengal for medical treatment on May 12th. He had been staying at a friend’s residence in Baranagar.

On May 13th, he mentioned visiting a doctor for treatment, after which he went missing. Concerns were raised, and a report was filed at the local police station on May 14th. The Bangladeshi Embassy was also informed of his disappearance.

Police launched an extensive search operation across Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, where Azim’s location was traced during the investigation.

However, nine days after his disappearance, Azim’s body was recovered from Kolkata’s New Town area, fueling suspicions of foul play.

Anwarul Azim represented the Jhenaidah-4 constituency in Bangladesh. His sudden disappearance stirred concerns across West Bengal and Bangladesh.

Police scoured all locations suspected of his presence. It was revealed that his last known location was in New Town.

Following his disappearance, police expanded their search to include Baranagar and its surrounding areas but to no avail.

It was reported that Azim had arrived at the residence of his friend, Gopal Vishwas, on May 12th, and remained there until May 13th, when he left for medical treatment and subsequently went missing.

Further investigation revealed that after arriving in Kolkata, Azim had stayed in a rented flat in New Town with some individuals.

The New Town police station and the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate’s Special Investigation Department are actively involved in probing the case.
