Jaipur, Dec 15: Bhajan Lal Sharma, a first-time MLA, is set to take the oath as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan today, coinciding with his 56th birthday. The swearing-in ceremony, to be held at the iconic Albert Hall in Jaipur, will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda.

Vidhyadhar Nagar MLA Diya Kumari and Dudu MLA Prem Chand Bairwa will be sworn in as the two Deputy Chief Ministers. Governor Kalraj Mishra will administer the oath to the trio.

Prem Chand Bairwa commenced the day with prayers at the Moti Dungri Ganesh temple in Jaipur. The ceremony, scheduled for noon, is expected to draw a large audience, necessitating extensive security and seating arrangements at Albert Hall.

Invitations have been extended to central leaders and state chief ministers for the event. The roads leading to Jaipur are adorned with posters and banners showcasing various welfare schemes of the BJP-led Centre, along with cutouts of party leaders.

Expressing his excitement on X, Sharma welcomed PM Modi, Shah, and Nadda to Jaipur, emphasizing the joy and anticipation of the people in the state. Similar messages were extended to Amit Shah and JP Nadda.

The BJP Rajasthan conveyed birthday wishes to Bhajan Lal Sharma on X, with a post wishing him good health and a prosperous life. Sharma, in return, retweeted the post, expressing gratitude for the “birthday blessings.”

Sharma secured a resounding victory in the Sanganer assembly seat, amassing 145,162 votes against Congress opponent Pushpendra Bhardwaj’s 97,081 votes.

A four-time State General Secretary for the BJP, Sharma was declared the Chief Minister-designate during a party meeting on December 12, attended by central observers Rajnath Singh, Saroj Pandey, and Vinod Tawde.

In the recent Assembly elections, the BJP clinched 115 seats in Rajasthan, while the Congress secured 69, with polling held for 199 out of 200 Assembly seats.
