Rahul Gandhi made the controversial statement during a public event as part of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha’s Jharsuguda.

He alleged that PM Modi had lied about his caste, claiming that Modi was not born in the OBC category but in the Teli caste in Gujarat.

Rahul Gandhi further asserted that the BJP had bestowed the OBC tag on Modi’s community in 2000, despite his birth in the general caste.
