Guwahati, Jan 23: A clash ensued as police intercepted nearly 5,000 Congress workers, led by Rahul Gandhi, attempting to enter Guwahati on Tuesday during the restart of the party’s flagship ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Assam.

Tensions rose as the workers were prevented from entering the city.

The confrontation adds to the ongoing allegations by the Congress against the Assam government, accusing them of attempting to obstruct their foot march since it commenced in the state on Thursday.
