Guwahati, March 23: Several Congress leaders have recently shifted their allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Guwahati, Assam, signaling a significant political transition in the region.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media to announce this development, highlighting the influx of seasoned Congress members into the BJP fold.
“A few days ago I had said that almost the entire Congress party in Assam will join the respected @narendramodi ji. Today many senior Congress leaders have left the path of nepotism and corruption and joined @BJP4Assam. Hearty congratulations and congratulations to all of them,” Chief Minister Sarma proclaimed in a tweet.
