Weather Update, Sept 24: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather update forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall in multiple regions across India. Today, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Northeast India are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Additionally, heavy rainfall is anticipated in Madhya Pradesh, the Vidarbha region, and Chhattisgarh. Notably, Kodawanpur in Bihar’s Begusarai District recorded a staggering 32 centimeters of rainfall yesterday.

According to the IMD, conditions are becoming favorable for the withdrawal of the South-West Monsoon from parts of West Rajasthan, and this process is expected to commence tomorrow.

Simultaneously, the IMD has indicated the potential formation of a Low-Pressure Area over the north Andaman Sea and the adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal later this month. This weather system is likely to move in a west-northwest direction and could gradually intensify.

The ongoing heavy rainfall in these regions has raised concerns about potential flooding, landslides, and other weather-related issues. Residents and authorities are advised to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of lives and property.
