Imphal, Jan 03: An earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter Scale struck Ukhrul in Manipur during the early hours of Wednesday, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

The seismic event occurred at 1:36 am, with its epicenter located 26 km southwest of Ukhrul in Manipur, at a depth of 35 km.

The NCS shared details on Twitter, stating, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.0, Occurred on 03-01-2024, 00:01:36 IST, Lat: 24.75 & Long: 94.31, Depth: 35 Km, Location: 26km SW of Ukhrul, Manipur, India.”

As of now, there are no immediate reports of damages resulting from the earthquake. The region, being seismically active, experiences occasional tremors, and authorities continue to monitor seismic activities for any potential impact.
