Kohima, April 18: In response to perceived government failures, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has announced an indefinite total shutdown across Eastern Nagaland, effective from 6:00 PM on April 18.

The ENPO, along with other tribal bodies like the Eastern Nagaland Women’s Organization (ENWO) and the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF), has urged the Eastern Nagaland Legislative Union (ENLU) and the public to respect their decision to abstain from the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The ENPO’s decision is driven by their belief that the government has not fulfilled its promises to the Eastern Nagaland community.

They aim to protect citizens who choose not to participate in the elections and emphasize their unity and determination to secure a better future.

This collective action is seen as a powerful message to the government and the world at large.

The ENPO hopes to prevent any misunderstandings or confrontations on polling day by suggesting that elected members remain indoors, thereby avoiding any potential untoward incidents.
