According to sources within the commission, extensive visits to various states are underway to assess the readiness for the electoral process, a crucial step before finalizing the election schedule.

State Visits and Preparations

  1. Assessment in Tamil Nadu: Election Commission officials are currently conducting assessments in Tamil Nadu, evaluating the state’s preparedness for the imminent Lok Sabha polls.
  2. Focus on Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir: Following the assessment in Tamil Nadu, similar visits are scheduled for Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. These visits are expected to conclude before March 13, paving the way for the announcement of election dates.
